1. SCOPE OF APPLICATION, DEFINITIONS, REGISTRATION FOR THE EVENT

1.1 These General Terms and Conditions (‘GTC’) apply to all contracts for participation in the RRR2025 (Renewable Resources from Wet and Rewetted Peatlands) conference and workshops, which are concluded between the contractual partner, University of Greifswald, Domstr. 11, 17489 Greifswald and the participant. Deviating or supplementary general terms and conditions of the participant do not apply, even if we do not expressly object to their validity.

1.2 Participants may be consumers or entrepreneurs. Some provisions of these GTC apply only to consumers, while others apply exclusively to entrepreneurs.

1.3 Registration for participation in the event takes place online via the registration platform (https://express.converia.de/frontend/index.php?sub=1783) on our website (https://rrr2025.com/).

1.4 In order to register for the event (RRR2025), the participant can select the desired event (‘Conference Participation’) by clicking on the corresponding button (‘select’) without obligation. This also applies to all other events (workshops, excursions, conference dinner) offered as part of the RRR2025.

The booking process is preceded by filling in the mandatory field ‘Participant type’. Only then can the booking process be started by clicking the button ‘Start the booking process’. Booking the conference (‘Conference Participation’) is a prerequisite for all other bookings (participation in excursions, workshops, etc.). Mandatory entries are marked accordingly (*). The data is transmitted in encrypted form.
The booking process is completed when the participant clicks the corresponding button ‘Complete booking subject to charge’. The booking process can be cancelled at any time before clicking on the respective ‘Complete booking subject to charge’ button by closing the input window or by clicking on the ‘Cancel registration’ button. Only when the ‘Proceed to check out’ button has been clicked and the message ‘Your booking has been successfully completed’ appears is the booking of the selected event(s) binding.

1.5 The contract language is English. The contract will not be saved by us.

1.6 Registration is completed through the electronis delivery of the invoiceand,in the case of a free event , a confirmation of registration. The contract for participation in the event becomes effectiveupon receipt of the invoice and/or the confirmation of registration. The participant agrees to the electronic sending of the invoice.

1.7 By concluding the contract, the participant agrees to comply with the house rules of the University of Greifswald (https://www.uni-greifswald.de/storages/uni-greifswald/1_Universitaet/1.2_Organisation/1.2.5_Satzungen_und_Formulare/Satzungen/Grundlagen/Hausordnung.pdf).

 

 

2. SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CONTRACT, CHANGES TO THE EVENT

2.1 Participation in the event is only possible if payment has been received

seven (7) days before the start of the event at the latest.

2.2 Insignificant changes to the programme, in particular changes to the course of the event, do not entitle the participant to withdraw from the contract.

2.3 We are entitled to cancel the event for good cause (e.g. in cases of force majeure, insufficient number of participants, etc.). In such a case, the participant will be informed immediately of the cancellation and the participation fee already paid will be refunded. Further claims by the participant, in particular for compensation, are excluded in this context.

 

3. PRICES AND PAYMENTS, LATE PAYMENT, RIGHT OF CANCELLATION

3.1 The participation fee applies per person and per event date. The services included can be found on our website. Further services are not included in the participation fee.

3.2 Payment shall be made exclusively in advance upon receipt of the invoice. Unless otherwise agreed or unless a payment deadline  is specified in the invoice itself, the participation fee is due within 14 days of the invoice date without any deductions.

3.3 A booking can be cancelled free of charge within 14 days without giving reasons (§ 355 BGB). However, later cancellation is excluded.

 

4. LIABILITY

4.1 The lectures are given by carefully selected and qualified speakers. However, we assume no liability for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of the information presented by the speakers.

4.2 We are liable in accordance with the statutory provisions in cases of intent, gross negligence, culpable injury to life, body or health, the assumption of a guarantee or a procurement risk, as well as liability under the Product Liability Act.

4.3 We are also liable in the event of a simple negligent breach of material contractual obligations. In this case, however, our liability is limited to the total amount of the respective participation fee. Any further liability is excluded.

4.4 The above provisions  also apply if the damage was caused by our executive bodies, legal representatives, employees or other vicarious agents.

4.5 In the event of delay or non-fulfilment of services to which we are obliged under this contract, we shall not be liable even if the delay or non-fulfilment was caused by events which we could not have influenced with reasonable effort. This applies in particular in cases of force majeure (e.g. war, public measures and operational disruptions through no fault of our own, e.g. pandemics) and other events or circumstances that are beyond our control and which we cannot avert with reasonable care. We will inform the participant immediately of the existence of such an event and take appropriate measures to minimise the duration of the event and its effects.

 

5. COPYRIGHTS

5.1 The documents handed out to the participant by us or the speakers during the event are protected by copyright. Industrial property rights, copyright and other proprietary notices may not be removed or infringed in any other way.

5.2 Any reproduction, distribution or other use of the materials provided - including extracts - is only permitted with our express written consent.

5.3 Violations of clauses 6.1 and 6.2 constitute an offence which may have consequences under both civil and criminal law.
